True Endurance

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the Cross..” (Heb.12:2). I hope you read the above scripture carefully. It says that Christ was able to endure the shame of the Cross because of the joyful outcome: millions of sons and daughters saved from hell and enjoying eternal life with God. Think about this scripture: “But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in them” (John 17:13). Whatever we have to endure, we can do it because of the joy of Jesus in our hearts. This joy is not a passive emotion. Look at some of the words for joy in the Hebrew language: “rinnah” (Psa.30:5) means “to shout in triumph”. The word “gil”(Habb.3:18) means to “dance for joy, to spin around with great joy”. The word “sameach”(2 Chr.7:10) means “happy, cheerful, festive”. How could a woman beaten with chains for her faith and threatened with death unless she denied Jesus, overcome, endure and stand her ground against all odds? Yet Isabel Allum endured with the joy of the Lord and is still traveling the world with her husband, Ivan, bringing God’s Word to the four corners of the globe. Be encouraged.

All God’s Best,
