“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord(roll and repose each care of your load on Him) trust (lean on, rely on and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass” (Psa.37:4-5 Amp.). The Lord desires to have us seek Him. He promises to add the things we desire when the time is right. The key is to commit our way to Him. The Hebrew word for “delight” is chaphats which means “to bend”. Bending our wills to God’s  will because we have experienced the unconditional love Jesus has for us. Another meaning is “to be favorably inclined”, a willingness to follow the Lord because we delight in the Person of Jesus. In 1980, a prophet named Dick Mills came to our church. He would prophetically give scriptures to people that  were both special to them as well as providing direction. I leaned over to Ina and told her “he is going to give you your life verse from Psalm 37:4-5.” A few minutes later he called Ina out and gave her her life verse! That scripture has always been her delight.
