Amplified according to Webster’s mean to expand, to make lager or greater as in amount, importance or intensity. To increase the strength or amount of, to make louder.

That is who we are, a group of young people ages 12-21 and we are plugged into Christ. Our goal is to increase the strength, the importance and the expansion of the Kingdom of God and to be a mouthpiece and a trumpet to Amplify God.

We are creating a vertical atmosphere with our Father through prayer, intercession and the word, while also creating a horizontal atmosphere with relationship and fun.

We meet every Friday night and our goal is as we build vertically through the word and worship, we will build horizontally and reach out to our community, country and nations with community service and missions.

The heart of the Father is to Love and if you are looking for a place to find more of Him and a place where you can be “Plugged in” to be an instrument “Amplified for Christ” then this is your place.   

Hello, I’m Pastor Dempsey Bond, III and my beautiful wife is Pastor Roslyn (Roz) Bond. We have been happily married for 19 years. We have three beautiful daughters, Ashlie, Alexia and Anyah. Roz and I met in college and we were married 3 years later. We are a family that loves to have fun! We love movies, bowling, going to the beach, roller coasters, music and great food.

We have known for most of lives that God had a calling and a purpose for our lives. Like most people we thought that the call would be answered in the later years of our lives but the Lord had other plans. The word tells us “to be yea also ready” and God was not joking.

We are now the Associate Pastors here at River of Life Church Raleigh and we are overseeing the youth and married couples.

I left corporate america to be in fulltime ministry here at River of Life. Prior to ministry, I was a part of Theater in the Park for 5 years where I have been casted in “A Christmas Carol” and “Briar Patch” staring Ira David Wood. Singing and worship has always been a very important part of my life. Roz  left the world of cosmetics after 14 years and now has an event planning company. She is not only a great wife and mother but she is an awesome chef!

Our vision for the youth is to create a place of trust and safety where the Lord can be found. Through building relationships and friendships, we can grow in Christ together. We do believe in balance and just as we work hard we play just as hard. So come out and hang with us and God on Friday nights!

Psalm 127

1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
         They labor in vain who build it;
         Unless the LORD guards the city,
         The watchman stays awake in vain.
 2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
         To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows;
         For so He gives His beloved sleep.
         
 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
         The fruit of the womb is a reward.
 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
         So are the children of one’s youth.
 5 Happy is the man who
has his quiver full of them;
         They shall not be ashamed,
         But shall speak with their
enemies in the gate.

That is our prayer for River of Life, that we will have a heritage and that our quiver will be full of them. The youth are our next level of Generals in the Army of Christ. We are asking for a quiver full to shoot them out like arrows into their destinies and the destiny of the Kingdom.

Amplified Youth is a place that will be a mouthpiece for Christ, to be enlarged, to make loud and a place to make Jesus Famous! We are growing and we have had up to 17 young people in attendance on Friday night. Our plan is to have fundraisers to facilitate Mission Trips, community outreach and worship retreats.

During the recent trip to Cooperstown NY, Pastor Roz was able to connect with the youth leaders there and they have established Mission connections in the Dominican Republic and we are partnering with them for a 2009 group mission trip.

Pray that God not only allow us to meet our Mission goals for 2009 but that He will make “Amplified Youth for Christ” a place where relationships can be built and the Kingdom of God expanded!
